Sandy & Stanley Bobb are being honored with
the Melvin S. Cohen Community Service Award.
The Melvin S. Cohen Community Service Award is being
presented to Sandy and Stanley Bobb. For many years, the Bobbs have
shared their treasuries and their hearts with extraordinary devotion to
countless organizations locally, nationally and globally from the Jewish
Community and beyond. It is a challenge to find an organization that is not
connected to the Bobbs. Each has
given of themselves far beyond the monetary
involvement, chairing numerous community events including but not limited to:
Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s “Voices” event…twice, the Charles E.
Smith Life Communities Hebrew Home’s Aunt Minnie Luncheon, Jewish Women
International’s Women to Watch, Israel Bonds’ Ambassador Ball, The Technion
Society Dinner, JFGH’s Gala and the Hidden Children Exhibit at the U.S. Holocaust
Memorial Museum.
Additionally, Sandy has served on the Board of
Directors for Maryland Hillel and Adas Israel’s Sisterhood; is a Past President
of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Charles E. Smith Life Communities Hebrew Home;
Past Chairman of the Women’s Division of Israel Bonds; and was also the Advisor
of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority at the University of Maryland. Stanley is a
long-time active volunteer with the JCC of Greater Washington’s Dinner of
Champions/Sports Hall of Fame and Most Valuable Kids.
